The Henry Bell was built in Kilmarnock circa 1856, sister ship to the James Watt. They were steam colliers with a derick that worked the Clyde, unloading larger ships of coal and taking it to Glasgow over a period of circa 40 years. It was purchased by a Swansea man who used it in the Gower-Llanelli area until it was wrecked in a storm in January 1904. The ships register suggests the wreck was cleared, but the lower front of the hull, firebox and boilers remain. (Huckfield 2017, note in FI file for 07712w, for which it is the same as)
