Summary :
The laboratory building at the entrance to the former Yorkshire Imperial Metal Works, Neath Road is reached under railway; the entrance was formerly across Swansea Canal and the structure was also formerly part of the Morfa Copper Works. Key features of the mid to late 19th century structure include a two storey block along boundary wall with lower 1 storey and basement stepped ranges on the inner side, snecked rubble freestone dressings and rusticated quoins and a hipped slate roof (Cadw Listed Building Description).

Description :
The laboratory building at the entrance to the former Yorkshire Imperial Metal Works, Neath Road is reached under railway; the entrance was formerly across Swansea Canal and the structure was also formerly part of the Morfa Copper Works. Part of the south wall of the building appears to have originated from an earlier, demolished building to the south east (PRN 08246w).
