Restored in early 1920's but stated to be of pre- reformation origin and to have belonged to Penrhys monastic site (PRN 00937m).

Description :
Restored in early 1920's but stated to be of pre- reformation origin and to have belonged to Penrhys monastic site (PRN 00937m). Important pilgrimage site (Jones 1954, 6, 19, 47, 60, 93-4: Ffynnon Fair no.9); one of Jones's Class A wells (wells bearing the names of saints. Trinity, God, Holy Innocents, Easter). Plan in Arch Camb 1914, reproduced Williams 2001, 148 figs 59-60.
Evans 2003: GGAT 73 Early-Medieval Ecclesiastical Sites Project database. Holy well visited by pilgrims (Procter 2018). Associated with Llantarnam Abbey and in the Grange/Manor of Penrhys.
