Summary :
A substantial grassed mound standing on the top of a ridge between the Rhymney and Ebbw valleys. The cairn is roughly circular, well-defined, with steep sides and a flattish top. There is a large stone showing on the E side, and others showing on the sides.

Description :
A substantial grassed mound standing on the top of a ridge between the Rhymney and Ebbw valleys. The cairn is roughly circular, well-defined, with steep sides and a flattish top. There is a large stone showing on the E side, and others showing on the sides. On the W side is an excavation trench, c 1m wide, 0.5m deep and 5m long.
Dimensions: diameter 15m; height 1.2m
(1957) A grass covered mound with an overall diameter of 16m and a height of 1m. The upper half is almost square in plan with sides of 10m. It is surrounded by a circular berm. An excavation trench from the SW side to the centre is 2m wide and 0.5m deep and exposes several small stones. (Source 01)

(1987) The barrow stands in a permanent pasture field, grazed by cows and sheep, on the top of a ridge between the Rhymney and Ebbw valleys. It is a roughly circular mound, 1.2m high and 15m in diameter, the sides are quite steep and the top is flattish. There is a large stone showing on the E side. On the W side is an old trench c.1m wide, 0.5m deep and 5m long. Small stones are showing in its sides. (Source 05)
