Summary :
Stone built blocks capped with concrete, the lower of the two accomodates winding gear. Abundant metal rings driven into rock. A track leads down to the landing place from the top of the cliff. Murphy 1996.

Description :
The landing place itself was not viewed during the archaeological farm visit, however, the track running down to the landing place appears to be rock cut in places, representing significant levels of labour invested. The farmer mentioned that the harbour had been used for landing boatloads of sheep brought back from Ramsay Island, and that close to the landing point there is a set of rock-cut steps. It is difficult to assign a date to these features, but the advantages of this natural harbour, sheltered from the prevailing south-west wind, suggest that it has a very long history of usage.
