Description : Lead/Barytes (1870-1930s)
Geology A NE-SW striking lode in Ordovician Lower and Upper Van formation grits and mudstones with galena, barytes and witherite mineralisation.
Workings These consist of two shafts east of Bryntail Farm at SN92308716 and SN92478724. There are trial shafts/opencuts at SN92628730 and SN92858741.
Transport No evidence.
Power Foundations of the 20" pumping/winding engine house were situated close to the engine shaft. They are barely recognisable now as low earthworks in pasture.
Processing A stonebreaker was apparently installed at some stage after 1870. Most of the other dressing operations were carried out on the Bryntail dressing floors. No evidence now survives for any dressing floors at the Glyn Mine.
Other features There is a small reservoir at SN92108689.
