Summary : Early 19th century Lead/SIilver mine. Shafts lie at SJ1409277472, SJ1416077431, SJ1419577415 and SJ1413777337. There are also shafts in the woodlands to the north of Lloc at SJ14107750, SJ14207750 and further south at SJ14307730, generally surrounded by spoil mounds. A limekiln is shown on the early OS maps at SJ1407377308, though there are said to be no visible remains of this now. There are no returns for the mine after 1855 and Smith (1921) states that it was drowned out in 1844. No evidence for transport, power or processing appears to survive.
Description : Lead/SIilver (Early 19th century)
Geology Carboniferous Limestone.
Workings Shafts lie in the woodlands to the north of Lloc at SJ14107750, SJ14207750 and further south at SJ14307730, generally surrounded by spoil mounds. There are no returns for the mine after 1855 and Smith (1921) states that it was drowned out in 1844.
