Pantyffrith Mine

Workings Pantyffrith represents the early workings on the Pantygof Vein of the Halkyn District United Mines Ltd, who took over large scale workings in 1928.
The area known as Pant-y-ffrith lies to the north-west of the Moel-y-Gaer Hillfort. Many shafts and mounds remain on the area of common in the vicinity of Hill Cottage (SJ20506935) and Mount Villa's (SJ20206975).
The sett was later incorporated into the extensive workings of the Halkyn Deep Level Mine.
Transport No evidence.
Power Several pools remain in the area, one being a reservoir at SJ20406955.
Processing Later 20th century processing took place at tha Pen-y-bryn site (PRN 18015).
