Minera Mines, Speedwells Shaft

Description : Lead (1807-present day.)
Geology Carboniferous Limestone.
Workings Speedwell or No 7 shaft remains at SJ26905133 on the Main Vein to the south-west of Lloyd's Shaft.
In 1920, the Wrexham and East Denbighshire Water Company re-opened the shaft, which remains on their property and is still in use for pumping.
Transport The 1850s mineral railway passes the shaft.
Power Speedwell Engine House was built 1807 to house the 54" cylinder pumping engine.
