Possible Enclosure with causeway and ditches, Undy

Primary Reference Number (PRN) : 16268g
Trust : Glamorgan Gwent
Community : Rogiet
Unitary authority : Monmouthshire
NGR : ST4414887747
Site Type (preferred type first) : BRONZE AGE CAUSEWAYED ENCLOSURE

Summary :
A possible enclosure feature with a causewayed entrance and further linear ditches.

Description :
A possible enclosure feature with a causewayed entrance and further linear ditches, identified through a gradiometer survey in 2015.

The anomalies are approximately 1.5–2 m in width and
appear to form a possible causeway, orientated east – west, which opens up at the western end. This causeway is approximately 13 m wide. Where the causeway opens, linear ditch features at 4006 and 4007 approximately 2 m wide may form a further enclosure however there is no evidence remaining for the western extents. These three features may be related to the enclosure to the south at 16266g.

These features may be of Late Bronze Age or Iron Age and are of particular interest given their proximity to a recorded standing stone on the eastern boundary of the field, approximately 350 m away.
