Summary :
Network Archaeology were commissioned to carry out a desk-based assessment on the proposed high-pressure gas pipeline between Peterstow (Ross-on-wye) and Gilwern (Abergavenny). A field reconnaissance survey, auger survey in alluvial areas, field walking survey and geophysical survey were recommended.

Network Archaeology were commissioned to carry out a desk-based assessment on the proposed high-pressure gas pipeline between Peterstow (Ross-on-wye) and Gilwern (Abergavenny). A field reconnaissance survey, auger survey in alluvial areas, field walking survey and geophysical survey were recommended.

Site 22
Two pit-like anomalies recorded on south facing slope at the east end of the field. Low to moderate chance that the readings are archaeologically significant. Recommended, close monitoring during watching brief, with contingency for salvage excavation.
