Summary :
The site of a canal basin linked to the Swansea Canal and constructed in 1818 to supply coal bunkers associated with the Hafod Copper Works rolling mills. It was filled in between circa. 1928 and 1943.

Description :
The site of a canal basin linked to the Swansea Canal and associated with the Hafod Copper Works. The basin is thought to have been constructed in 1818 to supply coal bunkers associated with the works rolling mills.

The basin was located between the Swansea Canal (01046.0w) and its boundary wall (08089w) to the west and the works building (08292w) and rolling mills to the east. It was accessed through an archway in the boundary wall.

It was filled in between circa. 1928 and 1943.
