Description :
Bryn-du Works Engine House 2
Engine House for the Bryn-du Works marked on the first edition 1884 Ordnance Survey map. Engine house situated just to the west of the trackway leading to the Bryn-du Works furnaces. Building is of rubble-stone construction with surviving iron tie bolts. Probable wheel/beam pit slightly to the north of the main building. To the right of the pit, four large iron bolts designed to hold some form of winding gear are sunk into the bedrock. Walls of the main building stand to around 10m with the remains of a wooden superstructure attached. In association with the main building are a number of other partially collapsed structures.
