Summary : Branch canal coming of the Swansea Canal to service ironworks (PRN 01046.17w)
Description : Branch canal coming of the Swansea Canal to service ironworks (PRN 01046.17w) Built in 1828, joined a tramway from colleries at Gelli-nudd and Waun Coed to the Swansea Canal. Tramway ran down an incline, crossed the river and terminated at an ambitious wharf system including a dry dock for the repair of barges. The branch runs north-west for 300m and then curves to join the Swansea Canal.
