NGR : ST16307890

Description :
Grange of Margam Abbey, but Llantarnam Abbey also had a grange at Llystalybont though very little is known about it. Most likely site for grange is the district known as Mynachdy, housing has destroyed all trace of it, but a farmhouse called Mynachdy - fawr still stands; RCAHMW (1982, 294, MG40) thinks this may be the Llantarnam grange (Williams 1976, 89; 2001, 304 no.78). Are one or both of these on the site of the Villa Greguri, called Coupalua or Pennyporth granted to Bishop Euddogwy c 680 (LL151) or the neighbouring Villa Meneich granted c 708 (LL159) (Davies 1979 100, 102-3)?
Evans 2003: GGAT 73 Early-Medieval Ecclesiastical Sites Project database

Riverside grange, land now occupied by housing of Mynachdy suburb of Cardiff, with nearby farmhouse Mynachdy-fawr (Procter 2018). Associated with Llantarnam Abbey.
