Summary :
Only the socket stone survives from the medieval churchyard cross.

Description :
Remains of medieval churchyard cross consist of socket stone only; square/octagonal, chamfered top, pyramid stops, square socket. Square cross socket stone, 0.61m square by c. 0.315m high, broach stops to angles form octagonal plan to main body of the socket stone, its upper angles have double straight cut chamfers at distinct angles.

Square socket c.0.19m square is partly earth-filled and is over 0.04m in depth. Detail remains fairly crisp. Appears to be local sandstone. Located c. 6.25m from SE corner of porch and c. 8m from S wall of the current Victorian church. Probably moved to this location after construction of Victorian church in 1875-6 (possibly from near the medieval church or elsewhere; Roberts 2011).
