Community : Llantarnam
Unitary authority : Torfaen
NGR : ST303936
Site Type (preferred type first) : Medieval Grange

Description :
Valley 'home' grange in Magna Porta manor (Procter 2018).

Grange of Llantarnam Abbey; remained in the abbot's hands in the 1530s when other granges were being leased out (Williams 1976, 87); marked on Williams's map as lying between the Abbey and Gelli-las. Apparantly equated with Court Grange in Williams 1976, 90.

Grange of Scybor-court included among properties of Llantarnam Abbey in 1535 (Bradney 1923, 227). OS card ST 39 SW 18 gives an NGR of ST3092 and thinks this might be identifiable with Court Farm, which is confirmed by Williams (2001, 304 no.70a) who gives NGR of ST303936.
Not in Brook 1988.
