Description :
Excavated in 1952 in advance of quarrying proposal. The cairns proved not to be Bronze Age burial mounds; they were of uncertain date and appear to be connected with field clearance. [same ref as mount pleasant barrow] Dimensions: See description.
(1952) A group of three mounds adjoining Mount Pleasant Farm, Stormy Down. The first mound was a relatively large circular one, the remaining two appeared as faint mounds lying to the west and northwest of of the first. Due to the threat of ultimate destruction, though. Pant Mawr Quarry, excavation was carried out in 1952. Excavation proved them not to be BA burial mounds. Their precise character remains uncertain, but most probably they represent the clearance of an ancient field or enclosure bank. (Source 02)
