Summary :
Rees's Map of South Wales and the Borders in the 14th century gives this as the site of a grange extant in the 14th century.

Description :
Rees's map gives this as the site of a grange extant in the 14th century. OS fieldworkers noted that the present building known as the Grange and its outbuildings are of 19th C date, and that the house was in use in 1957 as a GPO sorting office and was in an area of housing development. (OS card ST 29 NE 13). Bradney (1923, 243) confirms this site as Gelli-las (Williams 1976, 81; 2001, 304 70b). Williams gives NGR of ST297936.

Gelli Las is a grange in Magna Porta manor. The Grange farm is now the location of Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre and its lands are now located at the site of Llantarnam Grange Industrial Estate in Cwmbran (Procter ). Associated with Llantarnam Abbey.
