Melin Aberalaw, Former Site of, Llanfachraeth

Primary Reference Number (PRN) : 36108
Trust : Gwynedd
Community : Llanfachraeth
Unitary authority : Ynys Mon
NGR : SH3102882890
Site Type (preferred type first) : MEDIEVAL MILL

Description :
This site has not been located with certainty, but it must be on the Alaw or Alaw Bach. It is most likely under the later buildings of the Mona Brewery. There is a woollen mill, Erw Goch, just above the bridge, but documentary evidence suggests this was built on a new site in the early 19th century. (Davidson 2002, p.23)
