Description :
Maen Hir on the site of the destroyed hut group known as Tre Fwri 5 2/3ft high by 3ft wide with some packing stones. (RCAHMW, 1937)

There are two standing stones 'A' at SH47436783 and 'B' at SH47616779. 'B' is most probably the stone referred to above. <2>

The stone is on the site of a destroyed hut group known as Trefwri part of which is scheduled (A 87). Another stone c.180m W is no scheduled. Full description of the monument in 1986. <3>

The eastern stone is as described and looks like a genuine standing stone, slightly prismatic in cross-section but in an odd place on a slope just above the Afon Braint. The western stone is an irregular slabby boulder at 2.2m long, 0.8 thick and 1.6m high artificially set on edge, possibly just as a rubbing stone. (Smith, 2003)

The stone is on the site of a destroyed hut group known as Trefwri part of which is scheduled (An 087). Another stone c.180.0m west is not scheduled. The eastern stone looks like a genuine standing stone, slightly prismatic in cross-section but in an odd place on a slope just above the Afon Braint. The western stone is an irregular slabby boulder at 2.2m long, 0.8 thick and 1.6m high artificially set on edge, possibly just as a rubbing stone. (Cooke, 2013)
