Description :
A large circular mound 1/2 mile SE of Llangristioulus church in Malldraeth marsh. 230yds circumference and 8ft high. (RCAHMW, 1937) <2>

A chapel formerly stood on the mound. Scheduled. Large mound (apparently that referred to shows on AP's at SH 45927307). <3>

The large ovate mound rises from the Malldraeth marsh at the point noted on AP's. It is artificial but no traces of chapel remain. Surveyed at 1:2500. <4>

The mound is 55.0m long and 48.0m wide and is orientated NW-SE. Evidence for the existence of the chapel at this chapel is weak. It came from a list of ecclesiastical sites mentioned - the MS of Hugh Hughes followed by D. Thomas (Cambrian register 1796, 287-8) and subsequently, Bayues. (Letter from R.B.White to RCAMM (undated) but compiled in 1969 [see Anglesey pamphlet box] survey of 17.10.69 correct). <5>

A recent resistivity survey of the mound carried out by R. B. White is not yet complete, but indicates the presence of and oval enclosure approx 102ft x 85ft. Probably a stone wall. <6>

Large circular mound SE of the church in Malldraeth marsh. 230yds circumference and 8' high, slightly ploughed over. Apparently composed of clay and site is unusual. A chapel formerly stood on the mound. <8>

Site as described 60m diam. X 2m high. Resistivity survey, conducted by R. White of GAT, shows foundations of a rectangular stone building on the top of the mound and a possible ditch around base of mound. <9>
