Description : Pickhill Halt - a stop on the Wrexham & Ellesmere railway. It consisted of a basic wooden plank platform, a tiny creosoted shelter with miniscule canopy and a name board lit (when vandals hadn't smashed or stolen it) by a single oil lamp. It was opened on the 30th May 1938 and built to serve the nearby 'Chocolate Works' (Pratt, D, 1999, 114).
