A charcoal burner's platform, located at SO50840032, is oval in shape some 7m by 4m. The shorter axis has been dug into the south side of the hill leaving a raised scarp on the north side (Phillips 2008).

The larger path enters the platform from the south west and continues through, with a slight south curve, to the Upper Wire Works building. The height of the path, which probably crossed the lane on a bridge, meets the top of the building at first storey height. The third path continues down hill to the lane to the Upper Wire Works (Phillips 2008).
