Two cairns that satellite the Neolithic enclosure.

Description :
Two cairns that satellite the Neolithic enclosure (SO30772554).

The Garreg Las round cairns are well-preserved and largely intact examples of burial monuments of the Early Bronze Age. Both monuments are made up of turf covered heaps of boulders. Cairn 1 is oval and measures some 10m x 8m and stands 0.5m high. Cairn 2 is round and measures 8m in diameter and is 0.5m high, with a central robbing pit 2m in diameter. Being closely associated with the Garreg Las hengiform monument (MM261) and Cross-dyke (MM260), the site has considerable group value and forms an important element in a wider prehistoric funerary and ritual landscape.
