The Cold Bath comprises ruinous remains of a small rectangular stone and brick building constructed in the 18th century to house a cold water plunge bath.

Description :
The Cold Bath comprises ruinous remains of a small rectangular stone and brick building constructed in the 18th century to house a cold water plunge bath. The tile-line pool within was fed by water from a stream via a stone-lined and capped culvert. The building housed both the pool and a small dressing area heated by a corner hearth. Also present to the south west of the Cold Bath are the ruins of a second dry-stone building of uncertain function, but possibly used as a changing room. The Cold Bath has a particular historical importance because of its rarity and the fact that it was one of the principal structural features of the famous 18th century Piercefield Walks, frequently described by contemporary visitors. The building appears to have been little disturbed in recent years and the pool and culverts remain substantially intact.
