Summary :
World War II radar station, part of the 'Home Chain Low', designed to guard against enemy surface craft and submarines in the British Channel. Site consists of 3 squarish concrete buildings with flat roofs, set on the high scarp of the Margam ridge.

Description :
World War II radar station, part of the 'Home Chain Low', designed to guard against enemy surface craft and submarines in the British Channel. Site consists of 3 squarish concrete buildings with flat roofs, set on the high scarp of the Margam ridge. Probably 1941-3.

The largest building, to the N of the site, was the operations room with its radar mounted on a metal gantry above the roof. The remains of the gantry survived at July 2003.
