Description :
Three-storey corn mill of early C19th date. Probably on the site of an earlier mill connected with Margam Abbey, referred to as far back as 1291. The mill operated until around WWII. Significant remains of its mill machinery and a surviving tailrace, leat and masonry dam survive.

The Mill has its origins in a medieval grist mill, as part of the Llanmihangel grange, part of the ecclesiastical estate of Margam Abbey. It developed as a 17th century building which was altered in the 18th and 19th centuries, when it was rebuilt to grind corn (Balmond & Wapshott 2022).
