Summary :
Cwmbyrgwm Colliery is situated on an east facing slope above Abersychan and comprises last water balance pit head gear (1820) which remains on its original site, a cast iron structure with wooden beams at the head, a stack and culvert dating to 1881 and oval masonry on top of a filled in shaft (Cadw SAM Record).
