Description :
Access to the site could not be gained during the present study and the monument has only been observed from a distance. The barrow is situated on a ridge, in the corner of a field, with steep slopes below it to the N and E. It has been ploughed, but at present is under pasture. It is a low, gently sloping mound, reported to be c 1.5m high and c 18m in diameter. The mound was trenched about the end of the 19th century upon the instigation of Lord Llangattock. Nothing of any archaeological significance was found. A later attempt at excavation was made during the 1950s by pupils of a local school, but was stopped before completion when it was found that the barrow had been scheduled.
Dimensions: Dimensions not known.
(1958) A few years ago an attempt at excavation was made by pupils of a local school. The excavation was stopped before completion when it was found that the barrow had been scheduled. The mound was trenched across about the end of the last century upon the Instigation of Lord Llanbattock. Some years ago I was informed by an old estate worker, who was present at the excavation, that nothing of any archaeological significance was found.
The mound is grass covered and is 27m in diameter. It is 2m high on the NW and 1.3m high on the SE side with no trace of a surrounding ditch. There are signs of excavation trenches across the mound from E to W and from the north side to the centre. (Source 03)

(1987) The barrow is situated on a ridge, in the corner of a field, with steep slopes below it to the N and E. It has been ploughed, and is at present sown with grass. It is a low, gently sloping mound, c.1.5m high and c.18m in diameter. (Source 02)
