Description :
Possible cairn at the top of what appears to be a local summit. Raised rim, which drops towards interior for a depth of c 0.5m all round except for a small area at the SE side which is raised to the same level as the rim, and a small area at the N, which is less raised; it then rises again at the centre. Very largely overgrown with vegetation; where stones are visible they consist of loose angular blocks of grey limestone mostly no more than 0.4m across. Doubt arises as to whether this is really a cairn because similar blocks occur naturally in irregular curving swathes elsewhere in the vicinity, and because there are a couple of large blocks c 1m across (?bedrock) just beyond the N side of the ?cairn; however, the naturally occurring stone deposit occur at or below the level of the surrounding vegetation and do not form a compact raised mass, as here. In a cleared area, but there are a number of self-sown saplings on it. Dimensions: 10.7m diameter, c0.8m high
Large cairn, C.90ft diameter by 6ft high. Site is undefinable as it is in dense forest, with no access.
