Summary :
Crick House, shown on First Edition Ordnance Survey mapping, possibly with its origins in the late 17th-early 18th century.

Description :
Crick House shown on First Edition Ordnance Survey (OS) map (OS map). Bradney records a Crick House as standing on the south side of the road, on the waste of the manor and part of what was the village green. He suggests that this was the house described as 'the new house near the green' on a survey of 1705 (Bradney 1929).

Statement from the Assistant Superintendent of Crick House 09/10/57: "I have no knowledge of the history of this house except that it was modernized and converted a few years ago into a remand home for boys. It is still called Crick House" (Edwards 1957).

Manor Farm or Crick Manor - sketch plans of the basement and ground floor. Notes suggest [incorrectly] that the building may be located on the site labelled St Nyveyn's Chapel. Building comprises a first floor hall with late Gothic windows, a two-unit hall and crosswing plan (PS 70-78).

A residential sales advert describes Crick House as a country house with plenty of potential, dating back 200 years in part, and set within its own landscaped gardens. Offered for sale with planning permission for £195,000 (Western Mail 1985). Now converted to a care home (Google Street View 2011).
