Description :
Upper part of a late parallel cartwheel cross, similar to one now in Ewenny Priory. It is recorded as found in the Afon Cynffig river adjoining the farm during works in 1972, weathered and water-worn. The stone is now fixed in a wall. [Conflicting NGRs regarding where it was found and where now positioned - NGR here is for the Scheduled part of a wall to the east of the farmhouse.]

A second fragment, which may have been the lower part/shaft was recorded sited 150m to the east at SS 8170 8286. This can no longer be found. The major fragment may be ascribed to the 10th or 11th century. Other worked stones in the area, some of which are built into the same wall as the cross, are thought to have originated from a documented medieval chapel site to the east (PRN 5101w), as part of St Michael's grange which belonged to Margam Abbey (791w), and fragments of its window tracery are thought to have been reused in a rockery.
