Description :
On summit of mountain, c50m from trig point. Rounded mound, made up of blocks of limestone (c0.1-0.6m across); no evidence for any kerb. In centre is substantial disturbance approx square in shape and c 0.1m deep, extending down to ground level; E side of disturbance is vertical, possibly representing the side of an original cist rather than a wall built subsequently. Dimensions: c9.0m diameter; c1.0m high
(1976) On the summit of Cader Fawr amidst exposed and scattered limestone rocks are the remains of a round cairn 9.5m in diameter and up to 1.0m high. The fabric of the cairn incorporates several unusually large boulders, and the centre has been mutilated. (Source 01)
(1985) The site is situated on the flat top of Cader Fawr mountain, to the south of the Trig point. The ground surface is limestone pavement and turf. The cairn is composed of limestone stones, and is round, diameter 9m. At its highest point it is 1m high. On the west side of the top there is a hollow, with a low wall built up on its eastern side: these look like recent disturbance. There are some larger stones on the surface. (Source 02)
91991/1997) On the summit of Cader Fawr, are the remains of a cairn 9.5m in diameter and up to 1m high, with considerable central disturbance. Some incorporated boulders are up to 1m long and 0.7m by 0.4m wide. (Source 03)
