Summary :
A 6.44m tramroad at Ystradgynlais built in c.1832 linking to the Brecon Forest Tramroad in order to transport limestone to the Ynyscedwyn Ironworks. It runs over Mynydd y Drum (Cadw 2010). Scheduled Ancient Monument status was granted in 1987 and revised in 2010.

Description :
A 6.44m tramroad at Ystradgynlais built in c.1832 by proprietor Joseph Claypon linking to the Brecon Forest Tramroad in order to transport limestone to the Ynyscedwyn Ironworks. It runs over Mynydd y Drum. Brunton's incline, at the canal end is one oth the most impressive inclines surviving in South Wales. (Cadw 2010).

Scheduled Ancient Monument status was granted in 1987 and revised in 2010 to cover the route from SO279002:279705 at Ystradgynlais to SO283431:210572 at Cwm Mawr as the original did not accurately relate to the remains on the ground. (CADW April 2011)
