Description :
Barely perceptible ring bank, most clearly seen from W, where it is visible rising above the false crest at the E. The site itself slopes down from the N; the downhill (S) side has been terraced up, but a perceptible slope remains. There is a gap in the bank 6.6m wide in the S side, where the edge of the monument can be seen only from the terracing; this seems too wide to be an entrance and may just be damage to the bank. The bank is c2.0m wide and covered by a growth of bilberry which helps to distinguish it; a few blocks of sandstone are visible in the bank and more can be felt through the vegetation.. Dimensions: c14.3m diameter (E-W), max height c0.25m
(1953) An earthwork sited slightly below the crest of a mountain, and sheltered on all but the S and W sides. It consists of the remains of an almost circular turf-covered stone bank with a diameter of 14m. The texture of the grass covering the earthwork is similar to that in the general area. There are no traces of an entrance, of interior stones, or of an other ditch. There is a fragment of an old field bank 80m to the NW. The site may a portionof a cairn rim or hut circle. (Source 01)
(1979 Not a cairn-rim, but a well-preserved ring cairn. The fragment of old field wall bank close by still survives. (Source 02)
(1985) Area 14m in diameter, circular, surrounded by a very low barely perceptible ring bank from which a number of ?revetment stones protrude. The site stands on open moorland on the tip of a slight spur, within a generally southward sloping area. It is most easily spotted from the ridgeway to the west, where spur and ring cairn are profiled against the skyline. The bank, c 0.25m high, has a gap in the southern side, and is picked out by the bilberries growing on it. (Source 04)
