Description :
Group of cairns, of which two (4521m, 4522m) are visible, 15m apart; a third, allegedly to the S, cannot be identified in the mass of quarry workings which occupy this area. Only 4521m was recorded by RCAHMW as a monument Dimensions: See description.
(1953) The cairn itself is a mass of loose stones spread over a shapeless area. The cist is orientated NW-SE and only the NE and SE lining stone slabs are now in situ. (Source 01)
(1960/1976) A rocky knoll. The cairn itself, which has been badly mutilated, must have been some 7.6m in diameter, built of small stones, and is now only 0.3m high. The central cist, oriented NW-SE, formerly 1.3x0.7m and 0.8m deep, is better preserved, though the polygonal capstone 1.4m across and two sides have been displaced; capstone has now disappeared. (Source 02)
(1961) Remains of three round cairns, all more or less interfered with by quarrying. The most northery is the largest, measuring 60' in diameter x 6' high (max) There is a cist exposed in this one. (Source 03)
(1985) Group of cairns, in a line north-south, in a clearing in forestry plantation. The most northerly is an irregular mound, c16m in diameter, and 1.5m high, of stones, mostly grass-covered but exposed on the top. In the centre a cist, 1.2x0.76m x 1m deep, is exposed in a hollow c1.5m deep. Large slabs of stone line two slabs of it. There are more large stones on the surface of the top of the cairn. The next cairn to the south is round, 2m high, with a flat top and a diameter of 15m. It is composed of small stones and has a large quarry hole in the middle, 3m in diameter and 1.5m deep. To the south of this cairn is a confused area of ridges and hollws and it is very difficult to identify a third cairn in this area (Source 03)
