Description :
A loose heap of rounded and angular stones, mainly no greater than 0.3m, limestone and quartz conglomerate; the edges are rather grass-grown. At the N and NW, part of the kerb is visible, taking the form of thin slabs of sandstone 0.35-0.75m long set within the mass of stone (ie the kerbstones do not (now) define the edges of the cairn); most of visible kerbstones are set upright, but a few are horizontal and have been built into a coursed arrangement. The centre is dug out into a hole, overgrown with bilberries, which measures 0.6m at bottom, with possible lining slab on N side 0.4m across; top of hole is c1.6m across. This cairn is not intervisible with cairn 483w, though they are so close that they are classed as a pair. c12.0m diameter; c 0.1m high GGAT 72 Prehistoric Funerary and Ritual Sites survey 2001.
