Description :
Cairn has been robbed in centre with a hole nearly 4m across and down to a point comparable with external ground surface; now appears as a wide scooped-out ring. Entirely covered in vegetation apart from one small exposure of stone (sandstone) though stone can be felt by probing both in ring and central area. In a clearing in mature forest, with good views to W; otherwise obscured by trees. Dimensions: c8.5m diameter; 0.5m high
(1956) A ditchless, grass-covered round barrow, scooped out on top. It is 10m in diameter and 0.3m high. Several stones are exposed at the sides and on top. (Source 01)
(1976) N of Nant Cwm-du the OS maps show a tumulus, but apart from some stony patches of outcrop, there does not seem to be anything resembling a cairn. (Source 03) (Source 04)
(1982) The site now falls within impenetrable fir forest.
(1986) The cairn is situated on the ridge-top in a clearing in forestry, just E of a forestry track. It is grass- and bilberry-covered, 7m in diameter and 0.5m high. The centre is hollowed out, the hollow being 1.5m in diameter and 0.5m deep. Stones protrude from the turf on the outer sides of the cairn. (Source 05)
