Description :
Low circular mound, well-defined on SE side, but not on other sides. Almost completely turf-covered except for small patch of stone showing, but as this includes a block of concrete amongst the local sandstone, it may represent recent dumping on top of the barrow. Barrow is rather wide with a dished centre except for the point at which the stones are visible; there is a slight possibility that it could be a ring cairn or platform cairn. Dimensions: 23.5m diameter; max height perhaps 1.0m
(1956) A ditchless, grass-covered and decapitated round barrow on a hill-top, with an average diameter of 20m and an average height of 1.0m. (Source 02)
(1962/1976) On a subsidiary summit. A turf-covered mound about 0.9m high, 27.1m in diameter-W and now 19.5m N-S, but the S side seems to have been much eroded. (Source 01)
(1996) Round barrow 20-25m in diameter, about 1m high. Turf-covered on high moorland. The barrow is of national importance as a good example of an upland barrow (Source 06)
