Caerhoslligwy Hut Group (b), Llaneugrad
Primary Reference Number (PRN) : 2129 Trust : Gwynedd Community : Llaneugrad Unitary authority : Ynys Mon NGR : SH49108523 Site Type (preferred type first) : ROMAN HUT CIRCLE SETTLEMENT Status : Scheduled Monument
Description : Hut group about 12.5m NE of 2128. Similarly situated on a limestone ridge. Much overgrown with bushes, it appears to consist of several circular huts, two of which remain in fair preservation with wall stones in situ; probably enclosed by a wall of which one straight section 14 yards long is visible on the south side. In poor condition. <1>
SH 49108523. An area of disturbed ground with a few isolated orthostats is all that remains of the settlement. <2>
Caerhoslligwy enclosed hut group, scheduled. <3>
No huts clearly traceable but obviously part of a group with 2128. This site is now very difficult to interpret as quarrying stone dumping and overgrowth all add to the confusion. The only readily discernible feature is a length of stone walling 13m long running in a NW-SE direction. A disturbed area with more orthostats lies NE of this wall. <4>
As previously described. <5>
