Description : Group of hut sites and other wall foundations on a platform of outcropping schist, top is broken by irregular outcrops. Some traces of walling remain edging the slope in places. Remains consist of (a) group of huts at the north west point (b) group at foot of slope at the south west side (c) series of banks and foundations on the south east side. Whole area is grass grown with bracken, gorse, thorn etc. Pottery picked up from inside the area. (RCAHMW, 1937)
Remains believed to be those of the residence of the lord of a commote which was a going concern in AD 825. <2>
Only low banks and vague traces of foundations remain at this site. Four possible hut circles and two enclosures visible 1967. <3>
1970 condition unchanged. <4>
April - May '86 encumbering scrub and vegetation cleared from the site by NACRO scheme with view to getting an up to date survey. <5>
