Description :
Round barrow 6ft high by 90ft diameter 40ft south of fence. Grass. <1>

Scheduled area moved to actually around the site. <5>

A large mound of fairly gentle profile so probably eroded down over time. No evidence of a quarry ditch but there is likely to be one, infilled by erosion. There seems no topographic reason for the siting, just part of a general low slope which without trees, would have quite good views over the mountains to the SE. The mound is large enough to contain a chamber and surprisingly has no evidence of past robbing. (Smith, 2003)
