Summary :
Field boundary hedgerows.

Description :
Hedgerow field boundaries comprised primarily of hawthorn, hazel and some mature trees divide fields 1-4.
Although the actual age of the hedgerows is unknown, under The Hedgerow Regulations 1997 a hedgerow is considered “important” if it is greater than 30 years old and is recorded in a document held at the relevant date at a Record Office as an integral part of a field system pre-dating the Enclosure Acts.
The boundaries are depicted on the tithe map of 1839 as well as on the Ordnance Survey maps of 1889, 1900 and 1916 (Cooke 2019).
