Summary :
The site is a stone circle or kerb circle 16m in diameter surrounding a level interior with scattered stone. There are 38 stones in the main circle, and others visible in the slight bank on the south side. Most are recumbent or displaced and it is difficult to tell how they would have been set originally. There are not enough stones to have been placed edge to edge to form a continuous kerb, but the spacing is very close. Diameter of circle is 11m internally. The size of the stones ranges from 1.2m x 0.5m x 0.5m to 0.45m x 0.5m x 0.3m. The largest are at the south-east. The bank is c.1.2m wide x 0.3m high. Evidence of disturbance in centre (a sub-square depression c. 1m x 1.2m x 0.3m). The circle is sited on level ground, the site slopes slightly to the south-east. To the west the ground rises to a low ridge, and to the east it rises to the main ridge.
Note proximity of a major cairn (prn101119) and standing stone (prn101168) to north-east and possible ring cairns (prn101700 and prn101620) to west. The interpretation of the site would benefit from a detailed drawn survey. Site visit - 6/2/99.

Description :
A RING CAIRN OF A BROKEN RING OF LARGE STONES.SOME 16M DIAMETER SURROUNDING A LEVEL INTERIOR WITH SCATTERED STONE.A HOLE IN THE CENTRE COULD BE A GRAVE THE WHOLE IS MUCH DISTURBED. S D 80;

Ellis Davies records about 40 stones close to the periphery of the circle, and about 30 inside - evidently what is known as a "cairn circle". A low bank of earth around the outer side of the stones.
